My take on the question, "What if our heroes had lost the Battle of Hogwarts?" Minerva in the Muggle world. With Hooch interludes.
A magnificent Voldemort-wins AU, a story of loss and hope, and, of course, love, set in the Muggle world. Author Kelly Chambliss is, as always, a brilliant observer (and creator) of character, and her Minerva and Rolanda are perfect, as are the wonderfully drawn original characters that people the Muggle world in the fic. Though it is more than a decade old at this point, this story has never been more apt: the reassuringness of Minerva is palpable in the early, otherwise grim, chapters, and her resilience in the later ones is both spot-on and a reassuring reminder that there are things worth fighting for, even in the darkest of times.
