The relationships between the women are beautifully etched, revealed through words and actions rather than descriptive narrative. Tender, funny and horrifying at turns, this is a must-read for fans of these characters, or for anyone who was waiting for Rowling's explanation of that strange moment, and was disappointed when it never came.
